Back by popular demand, G-RAP will sponsor the annual service trip to Peru in May 2012. The trip will involve community development projects and volunteering at a school in Urubamba, located in Peru’s beautiful Sacred Valley. Students who participate in the service trip will also have the opportunity to visit Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Pisac, and other surrounding villages. Students will stay in hotels and with local families. This Global Seminar, based in Bordeaux, provides an opportunity to compare France – its history and contemporary culture, economy, and culture – to that of the United States. By exploring Franco-American ties through history and selected topics, IAFS 3500: Special Topics in International Affairs – French Connection: Contemporary France and America in Historical Context offers students in the International Affairs Program (IAFS) and allied departments such as Political Science, History, and Economics, as well as qualified students from G-RAP, a chance to incorporate their coursework and knowledge of international affairs into a study abroad experience. Students will receive three-credit hours for this global seminar. The course and program will be led by G-RAP Director and History and International Affairs Professor, Tom Zeiler. Bordeaux Syllabus
